The adventures of Horatio Hornblower are based on the novels by C. S. These 30-minute radio episodes first aired on July 7, 1952, and were produced by Harry Towers through his Towers of London syndicate. Although the BBC was not interested in the series, it found a home in the United States, where CBS originally broadcast the 52 episodes until July 17, 1953. The series was later rebroadcast by ABC in 1954 and the Mutual Broadcasting System in 1957.
