Reviews

Karen Savage please do more!!!

(4.5 stars)

I absolutely love Karen Savages versions of the Lucy Maud Montgomery books. She's very good, and a joy to listen to. Please do the rest of the Anne series. Really would like to hear her do them all.

Excellent

(5 stars)

This is the third of the 'Anne' books I have listened to, largely because of Karen's reading. I have enjoyed this as much as the others. They transport you into another more innocent world, and are just so uplifting. Thank you again Karen for your superb reading.

Good read. I always love to read historical fictions. Anne of The Island is sweet, full of truth, and empowers hard working characters. It promotes education and goodness. However, I have been a little shocked over the quick ability some characters have at passing judgement on others. Even Anne does at times write someone off with a label. That is the only qualm I have with the book. Karen Savage is the best reader and makes the whole book enjoyable without making it annoying. I would recommend this book to others.

I love the cicadas chiming in at one point of this reading, it makes me think of home and I had to pause the book to make sure they weren't really here (in the dead of winter no less.) Mrs.Savage has a way of inflecting her voice to give each character so much life and personality. My favorite reader and a great set of books, although this particular book is not filled with as many imaginings and flowery dreams as the others, I guess it reflects this part of Ann's life realistically.

Another Wonderful Book!

(4.5 stars)

Even though it is inferior to the first two, it is still more enjoyable than most books. L. M. Montgomery's works are quickly becoming some of my favorites. They strike a good balance between sheer enjoyment and literary merit. As always, Ms. Karen Savage stands out as one of Librivox's best readers. A most perfect production!

Another Karen Savage gem.

Another truly enjoyable and wonderfully descriptive book by Lucy Maud Montgomery presented by an absolute gem of a reader in Karen Savage. My kids enjoy their fill of a chapter or two every night while going to sleep. Thank you

Again, I'm less fond of this book than of the earlier two, but the last chapter rescued it for me enough that I'm going to listen to the next in the series. I also loved new character Phillipa Gordon. the reading is superb as always.

Anne of the island: such a Joy

I love this book even more so being read aloud. I love that there are different versions if I don't like one persons reading of it I love that I can look for another. Highly recommend these books to any female.
