Sense and Sensibility, Jane Austen's first published novel, focuses on the lives and loves of two sisters, Elinor and Marianne Dashwood. The sensible Elinor and the sensitive Marianne both fall for men whose affections are otherwise engaged. Reviews

Flawlessly Naraated

(4 stars)

The story is a bit slow in the beginning but as the plot develops, it is sure to grab your attention for good. Elizabeth Klett has done a fantastic narration with her spirited voices and accents for every character making it a wonderful read. No one does it better than Ms. Klett.

Brilliant and entertaining classic!

(5 stars)

Jane Austen is as witty as ever! The characters are so realistic and relevant even to today's crowd. No matter what time you live in, human nature is the same at its core. Elizabeth Klett does such an excellent job narrating, as she does with every book, you can distinguish every character from each other.

amazing

(4.5 stars)

this story is one of my favorites. also I love Elizabeth Klett she reads so well and she does the voices, which make it so much more interesting. I recommend the audio book to every one.

wonderfully read

(5 stars)

The lady who read this was excellent. I cannot commend her articulation and passion for the piece enough. She changed her tone subtly as each character spoke and not once did she over act or over empathize a line. Excellent.

The cult of sensibility examined

(4 stars)

Beautifully read, Austen's first novel is less even in its appeal than her later work but nonetheless an interesting and often sparkling tale. Austen's tone in the early part is more severe and a bit off-putting, so I enjoyed the novel more as it progressed and developed the nuance familiar in her subsequent writing. Overall, however, it's a fascinating insight into how the cult of sensibility was gripping society at the time.

Sense and Sensibility

(5 stars)

I never tire of listening to Ms. Klett as she grasps and relays the tone, virtue and nature of the characters of this book and others. Her choice of Librivox books and her gift of reading are both timeless and fulfilling.

missing chapters

(2.5 stars)

I absolutely love the reader, but numerous chapters were only seconds long. If I hadn't read the book, I wouldn't have had a clue what was going on. Please fix those chapters that cut off too soon. Once that happens, it'll be 5 stars.

Amazing reading!

Wow, Elizabeth Klett's reading really brings Austen's biting critique and humor to light. Listening, I hear so much of the irony and sarcasm that I miss reading silently to myself. Another great job Elizabeth! Thanks for your dedication!
