Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (version 2)

Read by Kara Shallenberg (1969-2023)

(4.7 stars; 590 reviews)

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland tells the story of a girl named Alice who falls down a rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar and anthropomorphic creatures. The tale plays with logic in ways that have given the story lasting popularity with adults as well as children. It is considered to be one of the most characteristic examples of the "literary nonsense" genre, and its narrative course and structure have been enormously influential, especially in the fantasy genre.

what in the world?!? I've no idea what is happening in this story. It is very well written, but it is akin to a strange acid trip. The Reader, Kara Shallenberg, is a fantastic Reader. I've heard some of her other readings, and was glad to see a familiar Reader for this book. Not certain if I could've listened to the entire book if it was some random reader I'd never heard before. Her voice kind of makes me feel safe (that's the best word I could dredge up). And with such a strange book, I would've felt very 'topsy-turvy', if I'd listened to another recording. I am not sure if the idea I was attempting to express came across well enough. This is a good book, and the Reader definitely surpasses it. Please enjoy! And thanks once again to Librivox, and thank you Kara for taking the time to present such an excellent reading once again!

Wonderful story of Alice, narrated beautifully. I use this audio book to either relax or get to sleep in the evenings. After suffering a concussion, reading has become quite a chore, but this has helped me continue to enjoy stories and get to bed easily.
