Claudia 83 Eps
Various
(82 Episodes plus 1 audition from 1947-1948 season) "Claudia" "Claudia and David," played by Patricia Ryan & Richard Kollmar, was a drama based on the Redbook magazine stories by Rose Franken and William Brown Meloney. It began as a skit on the Kate Smith Hour June 6, 1941; a month later, it became a summer series. Claudia fell in love with David during her teen years. Much of the conflict within the program, derived from the possessiveness of her mother, the "everyday drama" focusing on counting pennies, balancing the cheque book and the repairing of household items. The "Claudia & David" skits on the Smith show developed the romance; the couple would actually wed at "City Hall" in the second regular episode, July 11, 1941. A syndication attempt in 1947-48,sponsored by Coca Cola, starred Kathryn Bard as Claudia, and Paul Crabtree as David. This is the 1947-1948 syndicated program. * Source: Wikipedia OTR * def gp ddh

Too much of a good thing
polistra
One of the good things about OTR, compared to modern broadcast entertainment, is the positive tone of most drama and comedy. Entertainment was meant to be an escape from the bleakness of life, not an amplification of bleakness. But this show demonstrates that you can have too much of a good thing. Claudia is a nice bumbling wife, David is a nice tolerant husband, and Mom is always right there to make up for Claudia's bumbling in the nicest possible way. Enough niceness! Somebody needs to lay down the law once in a while!

I can theoretically see why someone would like this show, and the sound is pretty good, but sour jelly on a whole wheat biscuit, this was nothing but sickly sweet blech from start to finish.
