The Heath Hover Mystery

Read by Roger Melin

(4.2 stars; 69 reviews)

A stranger appears in the middle of the night at Heath Hover while John Seward Mervyn is tending the modest location in a wooded area near a pond. Legends abound regarding Heath Hover; legends such as one's inability to spend a full night at the Heath on certain nights of the year, and that the place was quite simply.... haunted. These were legends which Mervyn has set out to disprove. He would, however, soon find that these were but a few of the mysteries surrounding this peculiar locale. And what was beyond that cellar door that appeared to open by itself at the right (wrong) times? A trip to the other side of the world might just hold the answers to the Heath Hover mystery. ENJOYABLE

(5 stars)

The transfer from Heath Hover to India was a bit clumsy. but the story was not harmed by it. The great reading of Roger Melin always enhanced a book. It is unfortunate that we have no additional books by this author.

mystery and romance

(4 stars)

Intriguing plot, characters and plot - well narrated by Roger Melin, who gets better the more he performs.

Good story.

(5 stars)

While it might have been slow in a few places for some listeners, I enjoyed the introduction of characters in strategic places and the building of the plot. The only problem I had with the storyline is that it never wrapped up some of the main issues presented in the first part of the book. Half the mystery was never solved. What was the deal with the haunting?

Good Reader - So-So Story

(3 stars)

The reader was good but I found the story tedious. Far too many similar descriptions of the beauties of the English countryside. Also, one of the mysteries was never explained.

(4 stars)

I listened to the whole thing, so it wasn't bad, but it was all over the place. I like anything read by Roger.

Great suspense

(5 stars)

Very good mystery and of course great narration as usual by Roger.

(2.5 stars)

the beginning was interesting but later chapters seemed misplaced/ unbelieveable.

Ehh

(2.5 stars)

The beginning was a touch creepy & interesting. Unfortunately, it didn't last. Once the story focused on India I was bored. I still don't get why the main character left India nor why he went back & with his niece. I didn't care enough to go over some chapters again to find out either.
