Crescent

Crescent is the last stop at the intergalactic crossroads of gritty sci-fi and pucker-inducing horror. --Scott Sigler, New York Times bestselling author of Contagious

Crescent is the ultimate sci-fi / horror mashup. It's a wicked blend of the claustrophobia seen in Ridley Scott's Alien, and the viral demonology of Carpenter's Prince Of Darkness with the hard-drinkin' bad attitude of Battlestar Galactica added for good measure. The future has never been so frightening. Phil Rossi brings it. --J.C. Hutchins, author of Personal Effects: Dark Art and 7th Son: Descent

Phil Rossi has crafted a space station tale with sex, horror, and vibrant attention to tech and human detail. Evocatively served, highly recommended. ---Paul Levinson, author of The Plot to Save Socrates

Darkness has inspired fear since mankind first watched the sun go down. Bad things hide in the dark feral beasts with mouths full of razors waiting for a taste of flesh. But now, the darkness is stirring with a life of its own. Crescent Station is the last bastion of civilization, floating in the cold, outer systems where colonized space gives way to the sparser settlements of the Frontier. Like the boom towns of distant Earth s Old American West, Crescent Station is a gateway to power, wealth, and opportunity for anyone who isn t afraid to get his or her hands dirty. But deep within the station s bowels, in Crescent s darkest and most secret places, an ancient evil is awakening and hungry, and it threatens the very fabric of space and time. Will the residents of Crescent Station find a way to stop it before the terror drives them insane? Or is it already too late?

This is the original Podiobook as released in 2007.

rossi rocks!

loved this story. i drive for a living and as a rule only listen to audio books while on the road. However with this book i would listen at home even at the risk of my wife's rath... i couldn't get enough of this story. i finished it in 4 days! most stories of this length would take me more than week. if you're into the sci fi genre you'll love this book. on to the next... thank you librovox for making work bearable. :-)

Review with no agenda

Phil, you are a master of this particular form, and your books are exactly as they should be, let no pompous ass with lofty narcissistic views of their own worth as a keyboard hero color your world in the most minute fashion. You freaking rock, brother. Good job.

very good

Okay first let me admit, I am THAT person; the one who yells at the characters on the screen and page to NOT look, to NOT go down that alley, and to definitely NOT say the evil's name for the final time. I want to thank you for those moments in this story, regardless of the sideways glances in my direction. Like another listener, I usually only listen at work, but carried this everywhere I could. I did take away a star for the not-so-great treatment the women got, but I think you'll forgive me that. Looking forward to another.

Terrible, Garbage. just bad, no hook, nothing worth listening2

i have extremely low standards for audiobooks. i'm not picky. If any aspect of a story interests me, i will overlook everything and give a good rating. This is thoroughbred crap. i gave 1 star for the effort put into the production. The sound effects were appreciated, i wish more Authors of Good stories used them more. but this is really really bad. i listen to audiobooks 12 hours a night as i deliver gas, this is the worse one.

Plot fell apart at the end

this book is outside of my normal genre but I gave it a shot. it was interesting, and I did enjoy it, but there were some plot holes that bugged me. The ending felt sloppy to me. But I would still recommend this to others who like this genre.

enjoyed this story a lot. good character building. and good science. the author made it it easy to visualise all the main players and scenes. well read by the author. I thought the sound effects would be a distraction at first. but they ended up adding to the books atmosphere.

I bumped into you, or someone that said they were you a long time ago on sl. This lead me to download, "Crescent" as my first podiobook. Thank you Phil for the amazing story! Unfortunately I've never ran into a podiobook that could rival this one. Please write another story ...

There aren`t many free audio productions that I like to listen to a several times, but this one is a remarkable exception: The sci fi / horror mashup is great (even if the story is a little bit lengthy in the middle) - esp. the dark and creepy atmosphere created ...
