Tuesdays & Sundays

Tuesdays & Sundays is a one-act drama that tells the poignant story of two innocents who fall in love, set against the backdrop of Prince Edward Island in 1887. The play, first produced in the Edinburgh Fringe, explores themes of love, loss, and the passage of time, reminiscent of a rural Canadian version of "Romeo and Juliet."

The narrative unfolds as the couple, despite parental disapproval, faces a tragic fate. The writers, Daniel Arnold and Medina Hahn, who also perform in the piece, skillfully bring these characters back to life, blending contemporary and archaic language to create a rich, poetic dialogue. The seamless transition between narration and character adds a unique layer to the storytelling.

Under the direction of dramaturge Wojtek Kozlinski, the self-directed acting shines, with Hahn embodying blushing innocence and Arnold portraying earnest sweetness. The simple yet effective set design, featuring tiny hanging lanterns, serves as a haunting metaphor for the delicate nature of young love.
