The Morpeth Carol By Timothy X
Timothy X Atack
The Morpeth Carol tells the story of nine-year-old Harry, who embarks on a mysterious Christmas Eve road trip with a very unusual and dangerous Santa. Living on the edge of a housing estate in an unnamed Northern town, Harry is a serious and intelligent lad with troubled parents. Late on Christmas Eve, he escapes their arguments and ventures out into the night.
In a snow-covered precinct surrounded by high-rises, he discovers what appears to be a crashed sled, with burning presents scattered around and mortally wounded reindeer nearby. A gaunt, hooded man lurks at the crash site, finishing off the dying animals with a shotgun, adding to the eerie atmosphere of the night.
Written by Tim Atack, a writer, musician, and filmmaker based in Bristol, this gripping tale combines elements of drama and suspense, perfect for the holiday season.
