Rosalie Allen Queen of the Country Yodelers Live


Recorded live at Weissglass Stadium in Staten Island, New York, this segment features Rosalie Allen, known as the Yodeling Radio Cowgirl of the 40s. She was one of the many country music celebrities who appeared that day to honor the King of the Country Music DJs, Bob Lockwood.

During the 1960s, promoter Smokey Warren brought country music to the New York Metro Area. Rosalie Allen, born Julie Marlene Bedra, was an influential American country singer, songwriter, guitarist, columnist, and television and radio host, celebrated for her yodeling. She was the first woman inducted into the Country Music DJ Hall of Fame.
