Dermot Bolger Walking The Road

Drama on One: Walking the Road RTÉ Radio 1 by Dermot Bolger tells the poignant story of poet Francis Ledwidge, a labourer turned literary debutante who lost his life late in the Great War. The pathos of his passing preserves his early work in the amber of the might-have-been.

In this lyrical biopic, Peter Hanly plays the premature Ledwidge, while Joe Taylor portrays his phantom chaperone in a vigil of pilgrims. The production features sound supervision by Mark McGrath and is produced by Aidan Mathews.

Experience the beauty and tragedy of Ledwidge's life through Bolger's evocative storytelling.
