Roger MacDougall Escapade
por Roger MacDougall
Escapade is a compelling story about a man with strong humanitarian instincts who dedicates his life to promoting international peace. His approach is almost belligerent, showcasing the author's sharp satirical style. The narrative takes a turn when his son escapes from school, steals an airplane, and takes action to highlight the universal desire for peace among youth.
In this adaptation for radio, the father is full of talk while the son embodies action, illustrating the contrast between their approaches to achieving peace. The production features a talented cast, including Stella Hampden, Mrs. Hampden, and Peter Henderson, among others, bringing the story to life.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.

What the BBC used to do and how I miss it!

This is a little gem. Raggedy and slow in parts especially at the beginning but so well worth persevering with. It is a period piece. A glance into a different time. It demonstrates what the beeb could do with a 90 play. I suppose I should drop a star for technical difficulties but for me it was such a delight to find that I am going to overlook them. Many many thanks to Radio Announcer.
Happy you enjoyed it!

Recordings don't always age well, and many Radio Broadcasts were sadly never recorded. Thank you!
