THIS IS NO JAMES BOND ... THIS IS THE REAL THING!

(4 stars)

An excellent well-written adaptation, keeping the thrills and earthiness of Freemantle's novel, with a first-rate cast. Too bad the adaptor didn't include the actual events of the downfalls of the two incompetent British agents instead of only having their bosses talking about it. An equally excellent radio adaptation of the sequel CLAP HANDS HERE COMES CHARLIE was broadcast a few years later with most of CHARLIE MUFFIN's cast returning, which is also available on Internet Archive.
