Galactic Patrol

4.7

Fresh from the Galactic Patrol Academy, Kimball Kinnison receives the Lens that marks him as one of the Patrol’s elite officers. His first assignment sends him after the Boskonians, a powerful organization behind a wave of piracy across the galaxy.

As Kinnison follows the trail, the pursuit becomes a test of his judgment and resolve as well as his abilities. The story follows his early adventures in a vast conflict between the Patrol and the forces threatening its reach.

First published in 1937, Galactic Patrol is the first Lensmen novel to center on Kinnison. It combines spacefaring adventure with the scale and brisk, forward-driving style of early science fiction.

Reviews

I am the reader, Kevin Coffin. This was my late father’s favorite book series of all time, and it has been my pleasure to put my interpretation on it. Hope you enjoy

excellent

I love the Lensman stories and am happy to have a new narrator. Great job with all the different voices, really helps the story come alive.

Fast paced tale

I enjoyed this third book in the lensman series and the enthusiastic narration. The narrator’s youthful voice perfectly suited the main character and captured the vibe of a 1950’s Sci-Fi radio drama.

I found this tale less than exciting, the hero uninteresting. The narrator is good but volume and sound quality are uneven and distracting.

A great novella with typical 50s perspective.

Read with mastery, bravo!

Galactic Patrol

Lots of twists to keep interest and feel good about the outcome. So many chances where disaster could end it, where friends make the difference.
