Information Please is a lively radio quiz program built around questions from listeners and the quick-witted answers of its expert panel. The show’s appeal comes from the contrast between the panelists’ broad knowledge and their playful, conversational manner, with host Clifton Fadiman guiding the exchange.
Rather than following a dramatic plot, each broadcast turns curiosity into entertainment. Listener questions range across subjects, and the panel responds with facts, explanations, and occasional humor. The format gives the program an informal, spontaneous feel, as knowledge and banter share the spotlight.
William Lyon Phelps is identified with this recording. The result is an engaging meeting of quiz, conversation, and intellectual amusement—well suited to listeners who enjoy learning something unexpected while hearing sharp minds think aloud.
