Third State of the Union Address

Ronald Reagan

English · Politics

Ronald Reagan delivers his third State of the Union address, a formal presidential speech to Congress. The address presents the president’s account of the nation’s condition and his priorities for the year ahead.

Listeners hear Reagan speak directly, in the measured, public style of a major national address. The experience centers on his words and delivery rather than on dramatic scenes or a cast of characters.
