Dennis Day
Dennis Becomes a Drama Critic
by
Dennis Day stars as a cheerful young singer whose good intentions often lead him into comic complications. Best known for his work on The Jack Benny Program, Day brings an upbeat, youthful presence to this radio comedy.
The program blends spoken comedy with music, giving Day room to perform as both a comic character and a vocalist. In “Dennis Becomes a Drama Critic,” the episode title points to a comic situation built around his new role as a reviewer, with the humor arising from the contrast between his enthusiasm and the demands of criticism.
Lighthearted and music-friendly, the show offers an easygoing mix of character comedy and song, centered on Day’s warm delivery and optimistic persona.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
