My Friend Irma
Election Connection
by
My Friend Irma is a radio comedy centered on Irma Peterson, a sweet-natured but scatterbrained young woman, and her practical roommate Jane Stacy. Irma’s misunderstandings and impulsive decisions often complicate everyday life, while Jane tries to keep things—and their finances—under control.
The program blends dialogue-driven comedy with a lively supporting cast and situations drawn from work, romance, and the pair’s shared household. Irma’s distinctive, innocent way of seeing the world provides the spark for comic confusion, while Jane’s exasperated responses give the friendship its affectionate balance.
Warm and character-focused, the show pairs broad misunderstandings with the familiar rhythms of roommate life. Its appeal lies in the contrast between Irma’s well-meaning chaos and Jane’s efforts to manage it, making the comedy feel both playful and companionable.
