Wild Bill Hickok
Mission in Alamogordo
by
Wild Bill Hickok is a Western radio adventure series centered on the legendary frontier lawman, portrayed by Guy Madison, with Andy Devine as his companion, Jingles Jones. Together, the pair ride through the Old West, taking on trouble and helping people caught up in danger or injustice.
The program brings its stories to life through dialogue, sound effects, and a cast of performers, creating the feel of a fast-moving radio Western. Hickok’s steady, capable presence contrasts with Jingles’s more comic personality, giving the adventures both action and humor.
Listeners can expect a traditional blend of frontier peril, pursuit, and camaraderie, shaped for an accessible family audience. The series’ appeal lies in its lively partnership and clear-cut Western storytelling, with the sound of the radio performance inviting listeners to picture the action as it unfolds.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
