Duffy's Tavern

Duffy's Tavern is a radio comedy set in a neighborhood bar run by Archie, its quick-witted, self-important manager. The tavern's proprietor, Duffy, is famously heard but never heard from directly, while Archie handles the customers and tries to keep the place—and his own schemes—under control.
The program builds its humor through lively dialogue, misunderstandings, and the parade of personalities who pass through the bar. Archie often addresses Duffy by telephone, reporting on the latest trouble or opportunity, and the exchanges give the show its distinctive frame. Celebrity guests also appeared as themselves, joining the comic world of the tavern.
With its bustling setting, sharp banter, and Archie's confident bluster, the series offers an easygoing mix of character comedy and guest appearances. This recording features Jinx Falkenburg, adding a notable guest presence to the tavern's familiar radio atmosphere.
