Official Detective
Butcher Shop Murder
by
Official Detective brings the world of crime investigation to radio, presenting dramatized cases in the style of a police and detective program. The title “Butcher Shop Murder” points to a murder investigation at the center of this episode, with the story unfolding through the search for evidence and the effort to identify the person responsible.
The program offers a straightforward crime-drama experience, using spoken scenes and performances to carry the investigation rather than a single narrator reading a story. Listeners can follow the case as it develops, with the tension coming from the mystery and the pursuit of answers.
Its appeal lies in the familiar pleasures of a radio detective story: a serious crime, an unfolding inquiry, and the gradual movement toward a solution. The result is a compact, dramatic listen for fans of classic crime and mystery programs.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
