Room for a Veteran
by
The Alan Young Show is a radio comedy built around Alan Young, whose genial, youthful manner and gift for comic timing made him the center of its humor. The program presents him in a light entertainment setting, with comedy shaped by his performance and the situations around him.
Rather than a single continuous story, the show offers a variety of comic material, combining scripted scenes and sketches with the lively feel of a radio variety program. Its humor is approachable and character-driven, with Young’s conversational delivery helping give the performances an easy, personable quality.
The result is warm, polished comedy suited to listeners who enjoy classic radio performers and a mix of sketches and situational humor. Young’s relaxed presence gives the program its distinctive charm.
