People Are Funny
Theodore Sorenson and the Chorus Girls
by
People Are Funny is a comedy and audience-participation radio program hosted by Art Linkletter. Its premise turns everyday behavior into playful challenges: contestants are asked to do unusual, amusing things, often in public, while the show builds comedy from their reactions and the people around them.
The program mixes Linkletter’s easygoing hosting with comic situations and audience involvement. Rather than following a continuing story, each broadcast offers a succession of stunts, surprises, and humorous encounters, with the fun coming from how ordinary people respond when faced with an unexpected request.
Lighthearted and sociable in tone, People Are Funny is built around spontaneous reactions and the pleasure of shared laughter. Linkletter’s warm, conversational style keeps the proceedings lively, making the show a cheerful snapshot of mid-century radio entertainment.
