Reviews

In a word, wonderful! I laughed and cried...

(5 stars)

I "couldn't put it down," and am anxious to begin the next book in the series. The readings of Anne and Murilla were especially good, and have made me think about volunteering as a reader myself. Great job!

A Great Recording

Almost all of the readers are very strong, especially the narrator/Anne. There are a couple of voices that don't fit the characters, but even then everything is understandable and clear. I listen to this version of these books at least twice a year, and they never get old. It's a wonderful story appropriate for anyone of any age.

Fantastic

A emotional roller coaster with Anne , a very great novel. A very great Librivox dramatic reading. I couldn't stop listening for wanting to know what was going to happen next. It made me happy, sad, laugh and cry. This is a very good story and I can't wait to move on to the next book in this series. A must listen so lend a ear and enjoy!

Very Good!

The book is read very well. My kids enjoyed it very much. The narrator and Anne are read by a superb reader! However some of the other characters' audio is quite poor and the voices don't fit the characters. For example Diana is read by someone who sounds quite old and aunt Josephine by someone who sounds quite young. Since the other characters' lines are short it didn't bother us too much. Overall we enjoyed the book nonetheless! Highly recommended!

great. :)

anne of green gables is a great story! and the performance of the readers, especially anne , is brilliant. the only reason i rate it a 4 and a half star is because of the unsuitable voice of diana. the voice sounds like a woman or maybe even a boy mocking to sound like a little girl! Orelse everything is great and its a very enjoyable audio! :) Thank you very much!!

Excellent

I love this story ! am just in love ! really appreciate all those who have recorded these books ! I wish people in the review wouldn't single out one person's voice as horrible because it was not and that person volunteers there time to record this for us ! so not liking the voice is fine but talking about in the review is just rude.

Such A Sweet Book!

I love listening to this book,I think the readers did a great job,but I don't think Matthew sounded right. Matthew just was not very convincing in this book; I couldn't be completely wrapped up in the world of Anne of Green Gables. All in all though, I do think it was pretty enjoyable. Great job you guys! Five stars!

SO GOOD

The book order is: Anne of Green Gables, Anne Of Avonlea, Anne Of The Island, Anne’s House Of Dreams, Anne Of Windy Poplars, Anne Of Ingleside, Rainbow Valley, Rilla Of Ingleside. These books are the ABSOLUTE book, I love it. I am disappointed that L.M Montgomery died, a long time ago, I admit. But still, she was a very good writer. L.M Montgomery died in 1942, the exact date I am not sure. I am only 13, but I guess I love to write. Louisa May Alcott, L.M Montgomery, and Anna Sewell are GREAT writers that I really admire! I love it so much! Thank you LibriVox, so much!
