Marge Askinforit

Read by Nigel Boydell

(5 stars; 3 reviews)

A rollicking parody of the Margot Asquith memoirs, in which Pain's character, Marge, beguiles us with the most personal details of her dysfunctional family, and delights in relating every cringing, if not wholly accurate, minutiae of her exciting private life. Instructive and Uplifting

(5 stars)

I was beginning to think that I was the only perfect person in the history of the world, and it was depressing me greatly. The reader can imagine how heartening it was to hear about dear Marge, and to hear her—through Nigel Boydell, who gave perfect Yorkshire voice to our heroine—describe all the familiar trials and tribulations that such an ideal human must endure! Likewise, the anecdotes of familial support and encouragement brought tears to my eyes as I compared and contrasted with my own experiences. It reminded me of the old saw that the best revenge is living well—and I am determined to do so regardless of my peers’ opinions.
