Once again with Theodore Dreiser, , I found myself unable to put this book down. The whole of life is here, with its illusions, tragedies and futility. Yet the wonderful main character redeems all, through her deep love and devotion. Thanks to Richard Kilmer for a sensitive, excellent reading.

Well read as usual by Mr. Kilmer. Story line is intriguing and the question of love vs. society's norms vs. money, power and prestige is faithfully examined. Very enjoyable read.
