American Men of Action

Read by William Tomcho

(4.5 stars; 13 reviews)

In this book, Burton Egbert Stevenson writes a brief biography of some of the most noteworthy men in American history. He begins at the very beginning of the history of America with Christopher Columbus and proceeds forward with the story of people who made America what it is today by their respective vocations. It is interesting to note that the vast majority of the subjects started in poverty and excelled financially and in stature.

He makes something that could be very dull, a very readable and enjoyable book. (Summary by William Tomcho) (8 hr 42 min)

Tremendous Book, so well read!

(5 stars)

This is interesting, expertly written in my opinion, &, read by a LibriVox Volunteer whom, I found, wonderful to listen to, as his voice is both comforting & interesting. Our reader brought a genuine warmth to what can be awfully dry material. I've gone back & listened to some chapters again because, truly loved this work.
