The Ascent of Mount Carmel is an important work of ascetical theology, and necessary for understanding The Dark Night of the Soul. The reader here does an excellent job at conveying the text.

If you want to grow spiritually as a Christian, this book is very helpful. I highly recommend listening to the whole thing. He was very inspirational to Pope St. John Paul II. The narrator does a great job too.
