Exciting, confused, day-by-day eyewitness account of the Easter Uprising

(5 Sterne)

Wild rumors and bullets fly. Communications are down and a loaf of bread is not to be found in Dublin. Bloody and harrowing account. The last part of the book struggles with understanding the short Irish "war" days after it happened. What were its goals? What did it accomplish, if anything? What happens now?

excellent history of the 1916 rising by somebody who was actually there on the day but wasn't involved in it. so it's an unbiased view by the author

a very good listen
