very interesting, but the author is very biased

Thoroughly interesting; fairly pretentious

The volume is a wealth of solid information about a vast range of subjects. The author is admittedly very biased to his belief in Christianity, but makes it very clear in the introduction that he is and will be throughout the work. in my own opinion, his unapologetic firmness in his own faith is rather endearing, and adds to the character of the author. he does not attempt to appease others, but does not seem to mislead the listener, and I would still consider this a scholarly work.

a classic

in his work, John aims also to be a beacon of excellence

good

very interesting though I find the topic could have been explored differently and in a more non-biased manner. There are so, so many old pagan cultures that were barely touched on or spoken of.
